About Brilliant Kids Montessori
Preschool in Carlsbad
Explore your child's
fullest potential through the combination of Montessori and a
Traditional Preschool/Kindergarten experience. Watch as your child grows
intellectually and socially through this structured program. Program
covers practical life, sensorial, language, math, botany, zoology,
geography, art and music are all taught in a creative and fun way that
your child will enjoy. Your child's positive learning experience is very
important to us and each child is free to excel to their highest
potential in this program.
The Montessori preschool classroom, or
Brilliant Kids Preschool, is a “living room” for children. It is a
Montessori School House in a homebased setting. Children
select their work from among self-correcting materials displayed on open
shelves; they work in specific work areas.
Over a period of time, the
children develop into a “normalized community,” working with high
concentration and few interruptions. Normalization is the process
whereby a child moves from being undisciplined to self-disciplined, from
disordered to ordered, from distracted to focused, through work in the
environment. The process occurs through repeated work with materials
that captivate the child’s attention. For some children this inner
change may take place quite suddenly, leading into deep concentration.
In the Montessori preschool, academic competency is a means to an end,
and the manipulatives are viewed as “materials for development.”
Educational and fun field trips are
scheduled for the children to participate, and parents are welcome to
join us. Because of the smaller teacher/student ratio, more individual
attention is given to your child. Children in this Montessori program
have an opportunity to advance in their own comfortable pace. They can
advance in
their own comfortable pace, every child is unique. In most cases,
Montessori children are more ready and advanced in many academic areas
when they enter public/private elementary schools.
The school facility is licensed by the State
of California. All teachers are CPR/First Aid Certified.
